Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Childcare Director to oversee the daily operations of a vibrant childcare center serving over 50 children. Duties Lead and manage a team of childcare providers, ensuring high-quality care and educational programming for children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs. Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate curricula that promote childhood development, social skills, and early learning concepts. Ensure compliance with all mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations, including pediatric first aid and CPR certifications, and maintain a safe environment for children at all times. Oversee classroom management strategies to foster positive behavior management, effective supervision, and engaging learning experiences. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's progress, address concerns, and build strong partnerships that support each child's growth. Coordinate staff training sessions on child development instruction, classroom techniques, special education strategies, and caregiving best practices. Maintain accurate records related to child attendance, health information, incident reports, and developmental assessments. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in daycare centers or early childhood education settings; preschool experience preferred. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies. Valid certifications in First Aid and CPR (including Pediatric First Aid), with ongoing commitment to safety training. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect is essential. Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration. Demonstrated leadership ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a positive team environment. Background in early childhood education or childhood development instruction is preferred; relevant coursework or certifications are advantageous.
