Ashe Developmental Day School (ADDS) is a nonprofit developmental day center serving young children in AsheCounty, including children with developmental delays and disabilities, in a nurturing, inclusive setting. Our Board ofDirectors is looking for a hands-on leader who cares deeply about children, families, and staff, and who wants tohelp ADDS keep growing as a trusted resource in our community.
Job SummaryThe Center Director oversees the day-to-day operations of ADDS, including staffing, regulatory compliance,budgeting support, and the safety and well-being of every child in our care. This role works closely with the Boardof Directors and needs someone organized, steady under pressure, and genuinely invested in high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the center,including staffing, compliance, and thesafety and well-being of children Partner with the Board of Directors todevelop, implement, and review centerpolicies and procedures Ensure ongoing compliance with local,state (NC DCDEE), and federalchildcare regulations Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, andevaluate staff Encourage and support staff inpursuing continuing education andprofessional credentials Partner with the Board in developingand managing the center's annualbudget Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and generalupkeep of the facility Build and maintain strong relationships with adiverse population of families, staff, andcommunity partners Coordinate facility access and scheduling forvisiting CDSA/NC Infant-Toddler Programtherapists and other outside service providers Stay current on curriculum, assessment, and stafftraining requirements Prepare reports and documentation for the Boardand regulatory agencies as needed Step in wherever needed to support classroomsand daily operations

Required Qualifications:
A Level III North Carolina Early Childhood Administration Credential (NCECAC), issued by the NC Divisionof Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE); and At least two years of work experience with children with developmental delays or disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field Prior experience as a childcare center director or assistant director Familiarity with
NC DCDEE
licensing standards and the star-rated license system
