Sep 1, 2026 Job Description Date Posted August 25, 2026 Position Details Child Nutrition Assistant Manager, Pumpkin Center Permanent / full-time / 7.5 hours per day / benefit eligible Position Available September 1, 2026 Reports To Child Nutrition Manager Salary / Non-Exempt Grade CN 52N ($16.87 - $19.61 per hour), plus local supplement, if applicable The salary for this position is based upon the successful applicant's years of service in the NC State Retirement System in the same or similar position. Experience outside of this system may not be recognized for pay purposes. For current Lincoln County School employees, this position will be paid according to the current Lincoln County Schools' pay scale. Qualifications / Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and TB test before starting employment. ServSafe Certification required within six months of hire date Must be able to tolerate bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pulling, pushing, and some repetitive motion Food service experience required Must be able to perform very heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects Must be able to tolerate exposure to extremes of temperatures Knowledge / Abilities Working knowledge of food preparation and serving practices Working knowledge of safety and sanitation standards Skill in the use of food preparation equipment Ability to make computations necessary for conversion of recipe quantities and timely food preparation Ability to plan sequence of steps in food preparation Ability to read and comprehend recipes and directions for use of equipment Duties Reads recipes and directions for numbers of meals to be served Calculates amount of ingredients for number of portions to be served Measures and mixes ingredients Computes time to be used in preparing and finishing products on time Portions product into prescribed serving size Arranges food and supplies to retain sanitation and quality Notifies manager of equipment repairs needed Records material and supplies needed Other duties as assigned by the CN Manager Application Deadline Open Until Filled Application Process All candidates are required to complete an on-line application via Applicant Tracking.
