Harper's Happy Hooligans is seeking an experienced, caring, and motivated CDA Daycare Director to help us open and grow our new childcare center in Grand Forks. This is more than simply stepping into an established director position. You will have the opportunity to help shape a new center from the beginning—building a strong team, developing classroom routines, welcoming families, and creating the kind of environment where children and staff can thrive. We are looking for someone who sees possibilities, enjoys working as part of a team, and isn't afraid to jump in and help wherever needed. What You'll Do Work closely with the owner and Co-Director to prepare Harper's Happy Hooligans for opening and ongoing operations. Help establish classroom procedures, daily routines, policies, and systems. Assist with licensing preparation and maintain compliance with North Dakota childcare requirements. Recruit, train, supervise, support, and encourage teachers, childcare staff, and volunteers. Help develop a positive workplace culture where staff feel valued and supported. Monitor classrooms and staff-to-child ratios throughout the day. Step into classrooms and provide direct care or coverage when needed. Build positive relationships with children and their families. Assist with enrollment, tours, parent communication, and center records. Help coordinate staff schedules, breaks, training, and required documentation. Maintain high standards for health, safety, cleanliness, supervision, and quality of care. Help develop age-appropriate programming for infants through school-age children. Work with the owner and Co-Director on enrollment goals, staffing needs, center expenses, and day-to-day operations. Help build relationships with schools and community organizations. Be an active part of growing Harper's Happy Hooligans into a successful, long-term childcare program. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys children and understands that running a successful childcare center requires teamwork, organization, communication, flexibility, and leadership. Our ideal Director is someone who can lead a team while still being willing to roll up their sleeves and help in a classroom when needed. We want someone who can solve problems, communicate respectfully with families and staff, stay organized, and help create a center where people enjoy coming to work. Applicants should have a current CDA credential and meet applicable North Dakota requirements for serving as a childcare center director. Previous experience in childcare, early childhood education, center administration, staff supervision, licensing, or program development is strongly preferred. Why Harper's Happy Hooligans?
