What they do

A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Job Description

This role provides leadership for high-quality youth development programs, supervises two Regional Directors, builds strong community partnerships, and drives program growth and long-term sustainability. Working collaboratively with schools, families, and community organizations, this leader will help expand the YMCA's impact and strengthen the communities we serve. Who You Are A mission-driven leader passionate about youth development. Experienced in team leadership, program management, and strategic planning. Skilled at building relationships with stakeholders and developing high-performing teams. Committed to creating positive outcomes for children, families, and communities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Recreation Management, or a related field preferred. Must meet New Hampshire Child Care Licensing employment eligibility requirements. Five or more years of leadership experience in YMCA, childcare, youth development, nonprofit, or related program management preferred. Valid driver's license required. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, families, community partners, and other stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related software applications.
