A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Job Description

Regional Director of School Age Childcare The Granite YMCA- Somersworth Full-Time, Exempt Salary:
$58,000 - $64,000 Are you a passionate leader with experience in youth development and childcare management? The Granite YMCA is seeking a Regional Director of School Age Childcare to oversee multiple licensed school-age childcare programs in the Somersworth, Dover, Portsmouth area. The position will support staff development, ensure program quality, and build strong relationships with children, families, schools, and community partners. What You'll Do Provide leadership and oversight for multiple school-age childcare sites. Ensure compliance with NH Child Care Licensing regulations and YMCA standards. Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise program directors and staff. Manage budgets, enrollment goals, and program performance. Support risk management, quality improvement, and recordkeeping. Build relationships with families, schools, and community organizations. Travel regularly between childcare sites and YMCA branches throughout the region. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience, including 3+ years managing youth programs. At least 7 years of experience working with children in a developmental setting. Ability to meet NH Child Care Licensing requirements of a site director Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel between program locations.
