A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

requirements Ensure providers maintain appropriate New York State certifications, licenses, registrations, and clearances Monitor session notes, attendance records, progress reports, and required service documentation Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, timely, and consistent with each child's IEP Conduct or oversee internal compliance and documentation audits Identify compliance deficiencies and implement corrective action when necessary Work closely with billing and administrative teams to resolve authorization, documentation, and service discrepancies Relationships & Program Growth Address escalated concerns involving families, providers, schools, CPSE personnel, and internal staff Maintain strong relationships with families, CPSE administrators, school districts, preschools, providers, and referral sources Track key performance indicators, including referrals, provider assignments, service-start times, cases awaiting providers, documentation compliance, missed services, and provider capacity Provide regular reports and updates to executive leadership Identify opportunities to responsibly expand the CPSE program while maintaining excellent service quality and regulatory compliance Qualifications Education Master's degree required in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Education, or a closely related field Certification Candidates serving in the organization's regulatory Educational Director capacity must possess the appropriate New York State professional certification/licensure and administrative certification required by NYSED. Preferred or qualifying credentials may include: New York State certification in Special Education/Students with Disabilities or another applicable educational certification School Building Leader (SBL) certification School District Leader (SDL) certification Qualifying School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) certification, where applicable Candidates with other NYSED-recognized professional licenses or certifications applicable to preschool special education leadership may also be considered, subject to regulatory requirements. Experience 5+ years of experience in special education, preschool special education, CPSE, SEIT, or a closely related field preferred 3+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred Experience with a New York State 4410 preschool special education program strongly preferred Strong knowledge of theNYC DOE CPSE
system strongly preferred Experience supervising SEIT and/or related-service providers preferred Experience with NYSED compliance, audits, quality assurance, and corrective action plans highly desirable What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: A strong, hands-on leader who takes ownership and follows through Highly knowledgeable aboutCPSE, IEP
