Child Care Center Director Job Summary The Child Care Center Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the early childhood education facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This leadership role involves managing staff, maintaining compliance with educational regulations, and fostering a positive community atmosphere. The Director will provide instructional leadership, support professional development, and ensure the delivery of high-quality early childhood education aligned with best practices and developmental standards. Responsibilities Lead the overall management of the child care center, including program planning, staff supervision, and operational oversight. Supervise and support school staff, including teachers and administrative personnel, to promote a collaborative and effective team environment. Ensure compliance with all relevant educational regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards. Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance instructional quality and childhood development practices. Oversee curriculum implementation with a focus on early childhood education principles and instructional leadership in education. Promote a nurturing environment that supports childhood development and learning through age-appropriate activities. Maintain open communication with parents and guardians to foster community engagement and address concerns. Manage administrative tasks such as enrollment, record keeping, budgeting, and reporting as required. Stay informed about current trends in early childhood education and incorporate best practices into program operations. Qualifications Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; CDA (Child Development Associate) credential with a plan of study is acceptable. Experience working in school settings with a focus on early childhood education. Proven experience in teaching or educational administration within a school or childcare environment. Strong team leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively. Knowledge of childhood development principles and instructional leadership in education. Familiarity with educational compliance standards and regulatory requirements governing early childhood programs. Ability to facilitate professional development initiatives for staff members. Excellent communication skills to engage with staff, parents, and community stakeholders effectively.
