What they do

A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Build strong relationships with children, families, and staff. Ensure excellence in curriculum implementation, licensing compliance, health and safety, and daily school operations. Support enrollment, family engagement, staffing, and school performance goals. Recruit, train, mentor, and retain exceptional teachers. Partner with the School Director and leadership team to create an outstanding experience for every child and family. Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and servant leadership. Qualifications Previous leadership experience in a licensed child care center or early childhood education program preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Ohio child care licensing regulations is preferred. A passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing others. Ability to build meaningful relationships with families while maintaining exceptional operational standards.
