A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Flexible scheduling that supports work-life balance. What You'll Do Develop, organize, and implement high-quality childcare programs that meet community needs and align with strategic goals. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate childcare staff and volunteers; manage staff scheduling and conduct performance reviews to ensure effective program delivery. Develop and manage the state-accredited school programs, childcare watch, afterschool, and summer camp program department budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility, proper fee collection, and adherence to financial guidelines. Build and maintain positive relationships with families, community partners, and state regulatory agencies to promote programs and ensure compliance. Ensure all childcare programs meet or exceed safety standards and state licensing requirements, including staff training in CPR, First Aid, and compliant with state, federal, and Praesidium accreditation requirements.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Psychology, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in childcare management or a related field, with prior supervisory experience required. Experience establishing and implementing South Carolina state-accredited school programs in compliance with regulatory standards required. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and relate effectively to diverse populations from all social and economic backgrounds. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
