Fairview Bible Baptist Church is seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced Daycare Director to lead the opening and ongoing operation of our new child care center in Morristown, Tennessee. This position will play a key role in establishing the daycare's culture, staffing, policies, and daily operations while creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for children and families. The Daycare Director will oversee the day-to-day administration of the center and work closely with church leadership and the daycare committee to ensure the program operates effectively and in accordance with applicable Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) child care licensing requirements.

Responsibilities include:

Lead the daily operation and administration of the child care center. Recruit, interview, onboard, schedule, supervise, and support daycare staff. Maintain compliance with applicable TDHS licensing requirements, including staffing ratios, documentation, inspections, training, and health and safety requirements. Establish and maintain appropriate policies, procedures, records, and administrative processes. Manage enrollment and maintain required child and family records. Maintain professional and consistent communication with parents and families. Help develop and maintain a safe, structured, positive, and age-appropriate environment for children. Support the development and implementation of appropriate curriculum and daily programming. Prepare for and support licensing inspections, documentation reviews, and corrective actions when necessary. Maintain required employee qualification and training records. Address staff performance, scheduling, conflicts, and other day-to-day operational needs. Work collaboratively with Fairview Bible Baptist Church leadership and the daycare committee. Maintain confidentiality involving children, families, and employees. Assist with licensing readiness, initial staffing, enrollment, classroom preparation, and other activities necessary to successfully open the new daycare.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and meet an applicable Tennessee qualification pathway for serving as a Child Care Center Director. Qualification pathways may include an applicable four-year degree or RN credential with qualifying experience; qualifying college coursework or a Tennessee Early Childhood Administrator Credential with qualifying experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent with the applicable TECTA Administrator Orientation or recognized equivalent and qualifying experience. Candidates must also be able to successfully complete applicable Tennessee child care background check, fingerprinting, clearance, training, and other pre-service requirements. Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a child care or early childhood setting is preferred. Experience opening, licensing, or administering a child care center and knowledge of Tennessee DHS licensing requirements are highly desirable. Candidates should possess strong leadership, communication, organizational, staff-management, and parent/family communication skills and be able to work effectively with church leadership while maintaining licensing compliance and child safety. Pay:

$45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
