A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.
Position Summary The Program Director provides leadership and oversight for the daily operations of a residential treatment program. This position supervises residential staff, performs and oversees case management duties, ensures regulatory and documentation compliance, and helps maintain a safe, structured, trauma-informed environment for residents. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily residential program operations and staffing. Supervise, coach, and support direct care and residential staff. Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and staff performance. Maintain a limited caseload and provide direct case management services as assigned. Coordinate admissions, orientations, placement transitions, and discharges. Complete and/or oversee case management notes, progress documentation, assessments, and required reports. Maintain regular communication with caseworkers, families, schools, therapists, medical providers, and other members of the treatment team. Schedule and participate in treatment team meetings, service plan reviews, permanency meetings, and discharge planning. Coordinate referrals, appointments, community resources, and continuity-of-care services. Ensure required documentation is completed accurately and submitted within established timelines. Review incident reports and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation. Support staff during behavioral crises and emergency situations. Ensure compliance with licensing, contractual, confidentiality, and agency requirements. Assist with audits, corrective action plans, record reviews, and quality improvement activities. Participate in the on-call rotation as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or a related field required; Master's preferred. 3-5 years of experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, child welfare, case management, or social services preferred. Supervisory or leadership experience required. Experience with case management, treatment planning, service coordination, documentation, and discharge planning. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and behavioral support. Strong communication, leadership, documentation, time-management, and organizational skills. Ability to manage supervisory responsibilities while maintaining a limited caseload. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, when required.
