A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.
The L.E.A.F Academy of Spring is seeking an experienced, highly energetic and results oriented Center Director for their center. The Director will be responsible for the day-to-day and overall operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines while supporting our mission to enhance learning and development for each child. The Director will hire and train all the staff for the school/daycare, and implement the curriculum provided by the company's management team. The Director will ensure that the staff provides the best possible learning and care experience for the children in our programs, oversees the curriculum, and markets the facility and our programs. The Director must have extensive knowledge of childcare management and early education and must have the business skills to manage the administrative, operational, and financial aspects of the facility. Responsibilities and Duties Implement policies, procedures and systems to ensure a safe, healthy environment in compliance with the company policies and State Standards at all times. Market our center and attract new enrollments (New enrollments will also have bonus structure tied to the center director) Represent the daycare and company to public, community, parents, visitors and staff with professionalism and integrity Recruit, hire, orient, train, supervise and evaluate staff Promote teamwork by creating a positive, rewarding and inclusive atmosphere Plan and participate responsibly in marketing and special events Engage and communicate effectively with parents, children and other team members Maximize occupancy of building Keep the environment, building and equipment safe, clean and attractive Effect change required for continual compliance and improvements Manage budget in compliance with company's guidelines Organize and manage meetings and training as required Consistently follows through with all duties and miscellaneous duties as assigned in a competent and timely manner Day to day operations in compliance with Quality Standards of the franchise Follow through with all assigned duties Complete any additional duties as assigned Able to accept and handle change Receives instruction and direction in appropriate manner Able to work flexible hours Qualifications and Skills A minimum of 3 years as a Center Director at a licensed childcare center Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position Previous experience operating and managing all aspects of a school/daycares with a capacity of at least 100 children, including business management, education and continual learning and development, campus environment, and marketing and communications Classroom teaching experience in an early childhood facility a plus Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Highly professional and dependable Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the internet Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations Benefits Competitive base salary for qualified candidates Aggressive bonus program based on results delivered PTO offered after 1 year of employment
