A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Our client is looking for an energetic, highly organized, and inspiring leader to join their preschool in Arlington, VA as the Center Director . The ideal candidate must be a proficient multitasker who has extensive experience within a licensed preschool. Job Responsibilities Operations:
?effectively operate and manage all aspects of the school, including staffing, parent relations, quality control and facility management; lead recruitment efforts - job postings, interviewing, and onboarding
Financials:
?maintain budgets and financial records within set parameters
Program Quality:
?ensure teachers develop lesson plans that meet educational standards to promote age-appropriate learning and development based on the designated curriculum; ensure Kindergarten readiness for students; design and deploy high-quality and enriching
Summer Programs Employee Success:
?nurture a positive workplace atmosphere; facilitate ongoing training, learning and growth among staff members; provide guidance to staff and direct reports, issuing written disciplinary notices when required; elevate unresolved employment issues or legal concerns to senior management when necessary
Parent Relations:
?ensure the satisfaction of parents by promptly addressing their concerns in a courteous and proactive manner
Enrollment and Marketing:
?coordinate admissions processes, including waitlists, tours, and enrollment paperwork utilizing school management information systems; build center enrollment by providing tours to families, leading school and community events, and utilizing social media; maintaining a positive public image for the preschool
Licensing Compliance:
?ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and develop strong professional relationships with state licensing authorities; maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance; maintain a safe and clean environment for children and staff; stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting preschool education Qualifications
REQUIRED
Education:
?Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or an education-related field
Meets State Requirements:
Must have VA Director Certification
REQUIRED
Leadership Experience:
?At least 2+ years' experience in ECE, 1+ year experience in leadership, prior experience as a director Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations - for Infant and Young Toddler classrooms, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib Must meet background check eligibility
