What they do

A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Schedule:
Full-time (40 hours/week), Part Year Part Year includes built-in summer break, 2 weeks winter break, and spring break

QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED
Education:
Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Required; Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred; Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development Preferred; other related degrees will be considered that include 18 credits in
ECE Certification:
DPI certification in ECE, ECEEN, or related field desirable
Experience:
Minimum 1 year in early care education setting with preschool teaching experience; experience with low-income families
Professional Competencies:
Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, alignment with agency mission, supervisory capabilities
Additional Requirements:
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with adequate insurance
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Site Director, you'll lead comprehensive programming by: Providing site leadership to create safe, nurturing environments that encourage children's holistic development Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in low-income, at-risk environments Ensuring delivery of quality, comprehensive services including education, health, nutrition, and family support Providing supervision and performance feedback for reporting staff Following Head Start Performance Standards, Reach Dane policies, and accreditation criteria Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents, children, staff, and community partners Managing site operations and ensuring compliance with licensing and program standards Supporting parent involvement and connecting families with necessary resources and referrals
