Job Summary We are seeking an Early Childhood Co-Teacher who will work closely with teaching staff in supporting children to meet their social, intellectual, emotional, and physical needs based on their development. Must possess and share a passion for all children and their families, a positive attitude, and ability to adapt to individual student needs. Duties Embrace, learn, and implement Alaska Early Learning Guidelines, Alaska Early Childhood Core Knowledge and Competencies, Alaska Science of Reading for Early Learners, Alaska Childcare Center Licensure, and Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum Use instructional practices appropriate for early childhood development to maximize student/child growth and achievement Embrace learning through play, experiential learning, and experiences that allow children to explore their world physically, emotionally, socially, academically to meet milestones in their development. Coordinate and facilitate planning meetings with a collaborative team of staff. Manage adherence to quality educational standards and best practice in accordance with state and local requirements. Maintain quality effectiveness measurements. Establish systems to engage families in learning experiences, strong partnerships, and informative data (digital sharing of information, through curriculum). Monitor program implementation and effectiveness. Monitor and keep appropriate records for all aspects of student safety. Communicate frequently with families about their child's experience in our early childhood programs, including developmental milestones, celebrations, health updates, interactions between children, and any concerns observed or witnessed. Ensure cultural activities are integrated into education programs and training. Qualifications Candidates should possess a background that includes: Alaska Teaching Certification, required Early Childhood Endorsement, required Experience/education in early childhood programs, required Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an instructional a within an early childhood/education setting, preferred Demonstrated strong communication skills and relationship building with children and families. Demonstrated capacity to provide a safe and effective learning environment for children Demonstrated willingness to engage in personal/professional development Ability to work successfully with a wide range of groups, required Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and knowledge of local cultural values/history Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable We encourage individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives to apply for this rewarding position.
