Classroom Floater Cheaha Regional Head Start/Early Head Start Join Our Team! Are you dependable, flexible, and passionate about working with young children? Cheaha Regional Head Start/Early Head Start is seeking a Classroom Floater to provide support across classrooms and help ensure children receive consistent, safe, and nurturing care throughout the day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, collaborating with teachers, and stepping in wherever support is needed. What You'll Do Provide support and coverage in classrooms as needed. Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and routines. Help create a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment. Support developmentally appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, and preschool children. Engage children through play, exploration, hands-on activities, and group experiences. Support children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. Follow classroom schedules, lesson plans, curriculum, and program guidelines. Maintain constant supervision of children. Assist with maintaining appropriate child-to-staff ratios. Support daily health, safety, sanitation, nutrition, and emergency procedures. Assist with meals and other classroom routines as needed. Help maintain clean, safe, and hazard-free indoor and outdoor areas. Relieve teachers from classroom duties when needed. Assist with children with disabilities and individual needs as directed. Support positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Perform other duties assigned by the Center Director or Education Manager. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED One year of related experience preferred Must be at least 18 years of age Valid state-issued driver's license Ability to work with children and families from diverse backgrounds Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependable, flexible, and willing to work in different classrooms or program areas Ability to maintain confidentiality Must be willing to follow TCR policies, procedures, and Head Start requirements Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Lift up to 50 pounds Bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods Work directly with young children throughout the day Move between classrooms and program areas as needed Transportation Requirements If personal transportation is required for agency-related duties, employees must: Be at least 21 years of age Have a valid driver's license Provide required automobile liability insurance Provide a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Meet the requirements to be insured under the program's non-owned vehicle insurance plan Employees who are under 21 may not be required to drive for the agency. Pre-Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon successful completion of: State and Federal criminal history background checks Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check Pre-employment drug screening Employees are also subject to applicable ongoing screenings and annual evaluations.
