Job Description Preschool Teacher Definition:
Do you have a heart for young children and enjoy helping them learn and grow? Auburn UMC Preschool is looking for caring, dependable individuals to join our preschool team!
We are seeking individuals who:
Have a love for working with young children. Are patient, nurturing, and dependable. Enjoy being part of a positive, Christ-centered environment. Childcare experience is welcomed but not required. We are happy to consider applicants with experience in early childhood education as well as those with little or no experience who simply have a genuine passion for working with young children As a Co-Teacher at Auburn UMC Preschool, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside a Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and story time to everyday learning moments, you will help create a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important member of our teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun. What Your Day Looks Like Support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lessons and classroom activities. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom. Engage with children during learning centers, circle time, playground time, and daily routines. Observe children's growth and development and communicate observations with the Lead Teacher. Build positive relationships with families through warm, friendly daily communication. Assist with classroom responsibilities such as attendance, daily reports, and classroom preparation.
