Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a loving, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to join our Alabama DHR Licensed church-based preschool family. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a desire to help them grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually in a safe and nurturing Christian environment. Our Preschool Teachers play an important role in creating a positive classroom where children feel loved, valued, and encouraged. The teacher will provide age-appropriate learning experiences/curriculum while incorporating Christian values, Bible stories, prayer, and lessons that help children understand God's love. Duties and Responsibilities Provide a safe, loving, and nurturing classroom environment for young children. Implement age-appropriate educational activities and lessons. Adhere to Alabama Department of Human Resources Day Center Minimum Standards as we are a Alabama DHR Licensed Center. Incorporate Christian values, Bible stories, prayer, and faith-based teachings into the daily routine. Encourage children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development. Maintain a structured classroom with consistent routines and positive behavior guidance. Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being. Build positive relationships with children, families, coworkers, and church staff. Communicate professionally and effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, needs, and daily activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment. Follow all preschool policies, procedures, licensing requirements, and health and safety guidelines. Participate in staff meetings, training, special events, and other school activities as needed. Work cooperatively as part of a team and support the overall mission and ministry of the preschool. Serve as a positive Christian role model through words, actions, and interactions with children and families. Lift at least 40 lbs. Experience and Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Clearance. Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare center, preschool, church, school, or similar setting is preferred but not required. Candidates should have a genuine love for children, patience, reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with young children or a strong desire to work in early childhood education. Be dependable, responsible, and punctual. Have a positive, patient, and caring personality. Be able to create engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities. Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills. Be willing to follow and support the Christian values and mission of our church and preschool. Meet all applicable background check, training, and licensing requirements.
