Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support early childhood development, literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills. Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence among children. Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, circle time, play-based learning, and structured educational activities. Monitor and support individual child development needs through tailored instruction and early intervention strategies. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress updates, address concerns, and foster strong home-school connections. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child observations and incident reports. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR procedures. Skills Proven experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings with strong classroom management skills. Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, special education needs, and early intervention techniques. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Ability to implement behavior management strategies that promote positive social interactions. Familiarity with Montessori methods or other educational philosophies such as standardized testing or literacy education is a plus. Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, record keeping, and maintaining compliance with childcare standards.
