Join Our Team! Quality Child Care Early Learning Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and qualified ABC Lead Teacher for our Arkansas Better Chance preschool classroom at our East German Lane in Conway. This position is ideal for an experienced Early Childhood Educator who is passionate about preparing young children for kindergarten while creating a classroom filled with meaningful learning, exploration, encouragement, and fun. Position Responsibilities The ABC Lead Teacher will: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and classroom activities. Create a welcoming, organized, and engaging learning environment. Provide high-quality instruction aligned with Arkansas Better Chance requirements. Use our curriculum and Conscious Discipline strategies. Complete required child assessments, observations, lesson plans, and classroom documentation. Implement the Work Sampling System for every child, including completing ongoing observations, collecting and maintaining supporting documentation, entering assessment information accurately, and finalizing all required checkpoints within established ABC deadlines. Ensure all Work Sampling portfolios, developmental records, assessments, and required ABC documentation are complete, accurate, organized, and submitted on time. Monitor each child's developmental progress and individual learning needs. Maintain accurate student records and required ABC program documentation. Build positive and professional relationships with children and families. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development and classroom experiences. Work collaboratively with the classroom paraprofessional, center Director, families, and other staff members. Maintain appropriate classroom supervision and follow all child-to-staff ratio requirements. Follow Arkansas Minimum Licensing Requirements, ABC program standards, Quality Child Care policies, and all applicable health and safety procedures. Participate in required professional development, staff meetings, training, observations, and program evaluations. Help children develop school-readiness skills through hands-on, play-based learning experiences. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet at least one of the following Arkansas Better Chance Lead Teacher qualification pathways: Hold a current Arkansas educator license in Early Childhood Pre-K; or Hold a bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field that includes at least 12 college credit hours in early childhood education or child development. Alternative qualification pathways or relevant experience may be considered when permitted and approved by the Arkansas Department of Education.
Applicants must also:
Be able to pass all required state and federal background checks. Meet all Arkansas childcare licensing and ABC employment requirements. Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification or obtain certification after hiring. Complete all required professional development and program-specific training. Have strong classroom-management, communication, organization, and documentation skills. Be dependable, professional, patient, and committed to providing high-quality care and education. Be able to work cooperatively as part of a teaching team. Be able to perform the physical duties required in an early childhood classroom. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching children ages three to five. Experience in an Arkansas Better Chance classroom or another state-funded pre-kindergarten program. Knowledge of Work Sampling. Knowledge of Conscious Discipline. Experience completing developmental assessments and maintaining preschool classroom documentation. Familiarity with CLASS observations and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
