Fried Music is seeking a patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic Piano Teacher specializing in early childhood education to join our faculty. This position focuses on introducing young children to piano playing and classical music through private lessons and our Tchaikovsky Tots class, a small-group piano class designed for children around age three, typically with two students per class. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in classical piano, experience teaching young children, and a genuine passion for fostering musical curiosity and development at an early age. This faculty member will primarily be assigned beginning piano students, particularly children between the ages of three and five. Additional training and guidance in our teaching approach and curriculum will be provided. Responsibilities Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate private piano lessons and small-group classes for children, primarily ages 3-5. Introduce foundational piano skills, musical concepts, and classical music through creative, structured instruction. Foster a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment that builds confidence and enthusiasm for music. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, developmental stages, and individual student needs. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, practice expectations, and musical development. Collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate student performances, recitals, and school events. Maintain a consistent teaching schedule and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance and/or Music Education Minimum of two years of experience in early childhood music education and/or private piano instruction. Experience teaching beginning piano students, particularly young children. Strong knowledge of classical piano repertoire and foundational music pedagogy. Ability to develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities. A patient, gentle, nurturing, and encouraging teaching style. Strong communication and organizational skills. Reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to students' long-term musical development. Availability to begin teaching immediately. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching early childhood group music classes. Familiarity with introductory piano methods and early childhood music curricula. Experience working with children ages 3-5 in both individual and small-group settings. Schedule Part-time position with teaching opportunities during: After-school hours on select weekdays Saturday mornings Sunday afternoons Specific teaching hours will be determined based on student enrollment and faculty availability.
