Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities and autism. This role involves creating a supportive learning environment, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and utilizing various therapeutic techniques to enhance student learning and development. Qualifications High School Diploma required. At least 12 ECE units and 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare center or similar program. (6 ECE units accepted if enrolled in 2+ additional units each semester until completion.) Ability to sit, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. CPR/First Aid and Non-Crisis Intervention certifications preferred but not required. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. Utilize behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis to support student learning. Conduct data collection and maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior. Provide patient care and conduct assessments to evaluate students' educational needs. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support system for each student. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding medical documentation and confidentiality of student records. Participate in diagnostic evaluations to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages social skills development and peer interaction. Operating a company vehicle on highways/freeways Experience Proven experience working with children, especially those with developmental disabilities or autism. Background in special education or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, intake processes, and behavioral health practices. Strong understanding of patient assessment techniques and the ability to implement individualized care plans. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, families, and colleagues.
