Building Kidz of Berkeley Are you enthusiastic about nurturing young minds through early childhood education? Building Kidz Schools is on the lookout for a dedicated and passionate Full Qualified Preschool Educator to lead our new PreK Classroom. As an educator, you'll be instrumental in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our young learners.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum that promote the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development of children. Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment where children can explore and learn through play. Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity, curiosity, and self-expression. Observe and assess children's progress, and maintain records to track individual development. Collaborate with parents and caregivers to share insights into each child's growth and development. Ensure the health and safety of all children in the classroom, adhering to all licensing and safety regulations. Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
Qualifications:
Must have one of following options upon hire:
A:
12 units in the following area: child/human growth & development; child/family/community or child and family relations; and programs/curriculum. You must have a minimum of three semester units or four quarter units in each of the core areas. For infant and toddler programs
B:
Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential with appropriate age level endorsement issued by CDA National Credentialing Program of the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition and 6 month on the job training/or work experience in a licensed child care
C:
Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or Master Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom setting. Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues. Patience, creativity, and a passion for fostering a love of learning in young children. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain it).
