The Early Childhood Center is seeking reliable, energetic, and fun substitute teachers to cover staff vacations and illnesses as needed. We have a large teaching staff, so substitutes are able to work as often as they would like, most of the time. However, substitute employees are employed on an on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. The only benefit associated with substitute employment is sick pay.

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 3 ECE semester units, including an infant/toddler course. Must have fingerprint clearance, background check, and health screening. Must be able to interact collaboratively with students, parents, and Administration. Must be fully vaccinated, including the Covid booster.

Skills:

Ability to multi-task and take on various roles. Customer service skills in interactions with parents and guardians. Flexibility Willingness to work with ages 8 weeks through 5 years, and to perform all of the duties associated with each age group. Teamwork Able to get up and down from the floor or small chairs multiple times per day. Able to lift 20-40 pounds multiple times per day. Able to handle moderate to high levels of stress.

Responsibilities:

Provides assistance to classroom teacher and/or assistant teachers. Helps manage as the case may require, classroom behavior and environment. Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor or Administrator. Uses appropriate judgement to act in the best interests of students at all times. Assists in providing a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom environment. Assists in maintaining a classroom environment which promotes active learning. Changes diapers or assists children in bathroom, as needed. Be flexible in duties, schedules and hours. Follows direction of classroom teacher and/or assistant teacher. Follows policies and procedures as set forth by Administration. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Pay:

$16.90 per hour
