Job Description
We are seeking qualified, reliable, energetic & caring persons to fill the position of Awake Nights Childcare staff for Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program which is home to 24 boys, ages 6 to 12 years. Full-time,
- maintain consistent, reliable and punctual attendance
- maintaining a positive relationship with the clients
- deliver care which is Trauma Informed and Person Centered
- monitoring and supervision of clients at all times
- encouraging clients to make positive life choices
- mentoring/role models
- performing housekeeping duties
- working with children with mild to high levels of aggression
- completing daily reports regarding clients behaviors and activities
- communicating with other staff members regarding children's activities for the day
- The successful candidate must also be willing to collaborate with other members of the professional team to develop plans that will assist our clients through therapies and treatment goals that will enable them to transition into a family home setting.
Qualifications required:
- Applicant must be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Children's Residential facility or Bachelor's Degree
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Psychology, Social Work, OT, Education or Child and Youth Care or
- Completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education or related education and 100 hours of experiencing working with youth
- Previous Childcare experience in a Group Home or STRTP is a plus.
- Individual must be able to successfully complete a background clearance with the Department of Justice and CCL
- Pre-employment Drug Screening with a negative result is required
- Proof of valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
- TB test, CPR/First Aid
- Must attend staff meetings/trainings weekly Paid Federal Holidays, Vacation, 401K plan and Health Benefits are available for full-time employees.
