Job Description
Daycare Assistant Castle for Kids Home Daycare Escondido, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Sanitation First Aid Certification Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED (AHA) Feeding for children Activity planning for children Full Job Description About us Castle for Kids is a small, close-knit home daycare in Escondido built on a Montessori and free-play blend. We believe children thrive with structure — clear rules, strong routines, independence, good behavior, and helpfulness are at the core of everything we do. This is not a free-for-all daycare. Our goal is to help train children to be the best versions of themselves so they grow into polite, confident, well-prepared TKers. We care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and are looking for someone who shares that philosophy — patient, dependable, and genuinely caring, but also structured and intentional about guiding children's development. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll do Support the lead teacher in daily routines — circle time, meals, naps, outdoor play Step up independently when the lead teacher is away, following established routines and keeping the day running smoothly Hold firm, consistent boundaries with children. Kids will test you — we need someone who stays calm, doesn't give in, and redirects with confidence every single time. This is non-negotiable Reinforce our core values: respectful behavior, independence, helpfulness, and following routines Engage children in age-appropriate play and learning activities that support their development Assist with diaper changes, feeding, and other personal care for infants and toddlers Keep the space clean and organized: dishes, vacuuming, sanitizing toys, tidying bathrooms, and other housekeeping duties as needed Communicate with parents about their child's day, milestones, and any concerns Who we're looking for Someone warm, patient, and genuinely nurturing — the kind of person children naturally feel safe around Calm and firm — able to hold the line with kindness, not easily pushed around or worn down Aligned with a structured, intentional approach to childcare — you believe routines and boundaries help kids flourish Comfortable taking initiative and managing a room on your own Reliable, consistent, and looking for a long-term home — our kids build real attachments, and transitions are hard on them. We want someone who wants to grow with us Experience in childcare, nannying, babysitting, or early childhood education is strongly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles First aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Good to know No personal phone use during working hours (breaks and nap times are fine) Starting part-time with the opportunity to transition to full-time for the right fit This is a hands-on role in a home setting, not a large center — if you prefer a smaller, family-style environment, this is for you Compensation $18 - $22 per hour, based on experience. Part-time to start, with full-time opportunity. In person. How to apply Send us a message through Indeed and tell us a little about yourself — your experience with children, what draws you to a home daycare setting, and why you'd be a great fit for our team. We look forward to meeting you.
