Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Job Summary Children of Light School is seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced Infant Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The Infant Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants while supporting their physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and language development. This position requires an educator who understands the individual needs and routines of infants and can provide attentive care while maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and nurturing classroom. The ideal candidate has experience working with infants in a licensed child care setting and meets applicable California Community Care Licensing Title 22 requirements for working in an infant care center. Essential Responsibilities Provide warm, responsive, and developmentally appropriate care for infants. Maintain active supervision of children at all times and comply with required staff-to-child ratios. Plan and provide age-appropriate activities that support sensory, motor, language, cognitive, and social-emotional development. Follow each infant's individualized feeding, sleeping, diapering, and care routine. Prepare, handle, label, store, and serve bottles, breast milk, formula, and food according to applicable health, safety, licensing, and school procedures. Perform diaper changes and toileting-related care using proper sanitation and hygiene procedures. Follow applicable infant safe-sleep requirements and school safe-sleep procedures. Complete required sleep checks and documentation as applicable. Provide supervised tummy time and developmentally appropriate opportunities for movement and exploration. Observe infants for changes in behavior, development, health, or physical condition and appropriately communicate concerns. Maintain accurate daily records, including feeding, diapering, sleeping, activities, and other required information. Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and developmentally appropriate infant classroom. Properly clean and sanitize toys, equipment, changing areas, feeding areas, and classroom materials. Follow appropriate handwashing, universal precautions, and health and sanitation procedures. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians regarding their child's daily care, routines, and development. Build positive and responsive relationships with infants and their families. Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, administration, and staff. Protect children's personal rights and maintain confidentiality. Recognize and report suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with mandated reporter requirements. Follow Children of Light policies and all applicable California Community Care Licensing requirements. Participate in staff meetings, required training, professional development, and school activities. Perform other reasonable infant classroom-related duties assigned by administration. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet applicable California Title 22 requirements for an infant center teacher , including applicable education and experience requirements.

Applicants should have:

Required Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development coursework necessary to qualify as a teacher under California Community Care Licensing requirements. Required coursework related to the care and development of infants and toddlers , as applicable to the position. Qualifying experience working with children in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care setting as required by California Community Care Licensing. Ability to provide official or unofficial college transcripts or other documentation necessary to verify required ECE/Child Development coursework and qualifications. Applicants who have completed additional infant/toddler coursework or hold a California Child Development Permit are encouraged to apply. Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon completion or verification of all applicable licensing and employment requirements, which may include: California Community Care Licensing criminal record clearance or approved exemption/transfer, as applicable. Required fingerprint/Live Scan clearance. Child Abuse Central Index clearance/check, as applicable. Health screening and tuberculosis clearance as required by California regulations. Compliance with applicable immunization requirements. Completion of required mandated reporter training. Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification as required by the position or facility. Completion of any required infant safe-sleep training. Ability to maintain all applicable California Community Care Licensing requirements throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as an Infant Lead Teacher or Infant Teacher in a licensed child care center. Experience caring for infants in a group child care environment. Infant/Toddler ECE or Child Development coursework. Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. California Child Development Teacher Permit or higher. Knowledge of infant development and developmental milestones. Knowledge of safe sleep, feeding, diapering, sanitation, and infant health and safety practices. Strong classroom organization and documentation skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Dependable, professional, patient, attentive, and able to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team. Physical Requirements The position requires the ability to perform the normal physical duties associated with caring for infants, with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties may include regularly sitting on the floor, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting and carrying infants, assisting with feeding and diapering, moving classroom equipment, participating in indoor and outdoor activities, and responding promptly to children's needs and emergencies.
