Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and creative activities aligned with early childhood education standards. Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, social interaction, and positive behavior management. Engage children in hands-on learning experiences that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development based on child development instruction principles. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss behavioral concerns, and collaborate on supporting each child's growth. Maintain accurate records of student progress, standardized testing results, and lesson plans in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Manage classroom routines efficiently while fostering independence and responsibility among students. Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention by adapting activities and collaborating with specialists as needed. Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols including first aid and CPR procedures; respond promptly to emergencies or incidents involving children. Experience Prior classroom experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is essential. Education in ECE with 12 units completed Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies. Experience developing curriculum content that includes literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning. Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and working with children with diverse needs is highly desirable. Proven ability to communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and community partners to support child welfare and educational success. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in early childhood education or preschool teaching are preferred.
