We are child and family centered, with a developmentally age-appropriate program that focuses on current research into Early Childhood Education to provide quality care and instruction to the families of Montrose, Tujunga, Glendale, Sunland, La Crescenta and La Cañada Flintridge. We offer employees paid vacation, sick time, a pension, and other benefits. As our program grows under the leadership of our new director, our teachers work in community to support all teaching roles as a team, leaving no one feeling left behind or isolated. Lead Educator Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced teacher that can have fun with young children. They must understand the fun ways they communicate, follow the interest of the children, and be comfortable playing at their same level. In addition to getting along with the children, they need to fill out assessments on their charges and work well with their peers.
The ideal candidate:
Interacts frequently, effectively, and respectfully with the children in a caring and supportive manner Communicates directly with each child at the child's level through play, including but not limited to song, dance, toys, and storytelling Encourages and models positive social behavior through loving, nurturing methods of age-appropriate guidance Possesses a clear understanding of two-year-old through four-year-old-development Provides a safe environment for children to explore and learn about their world with a variety of provided developmentally appropriate materials Demonstrates and fosters respect for diverse cultures and identities through anti-bias, anti-racist, non-homophobic, non-ableist, and non-sexist language, images, and experiences Plans and implements curriculum in collaboration with the lead teacher to accomplish our center goals based on age-appropriate, individual needs Is a Team Player able to effectively represent and achieve the ideals and goals of the preschool Observes and documents every child's development and skills to plan curriculum accordingly Keeps the environment safe, clean, and attractive through an equal share of joint responsibility with peers Communicates with parents and co-workers in a friendly, welcoming manner with sensitivity, interest, maturity, and respect Follows all State licensing requirements Qualifications and Requirements Minimum 12 core units in Child Development At least three years' experience in a preschool Must be fluent in English Demonstrates a full range of motion to lift 50 lbs., reach, squat, climb, sit on the floor, and otherwise fully participate in activities Must have Reliable transportation (there are two bus stops for the Glendale Beeline and LA Metro on the same block as the preschool) Benefits Paid vacation Paid sick time Employee insurance No uniform beyond closed-toed shoes/wear what you have and can comfortably work with children in $21.00
