Stepping Stones Preschool & Infant Care, an owner-operated, year-round, full-day center, is looking for experienced teachers to work with our excellent current Montessori teacher to help us expand our Montessori classroom. Two of our three owners are Montessori certified. We need applicants who can work full-time, year-round, and start no later than November 1. While we would prefer applicants have a Montessori certification, please apply if you have extensive experience with Montessori instruction, especially practical life. Our Montessori classroom is very large and bright. We use a 1:10 ratio for this group and plan to maintain 3 teachers all year round as enrollment grows. We pay solely on experience and education.

Some examples:

A teacher w/o a Montessori Certification that has 5 years of experience and 12 ECE units will start at $28.75/hr. A teacher with no experience, 12 ECE units and a Montessori certification will also start at $28.75/hr. The same teacher with 5 years of experience will start at 31.80/hr. Ten years of experience and she will start at $35.00/hr. Twenty years or more and she will start at $38.69/hr. Add in a bachelor's degree in ECE and these will be even higher. We pay all teachers on the same scale, so there is no favoritism or special deals. In addition to hourly pay, we also pay over 86% of your Kaiser medical insurance premiums and provide access to dental insurance. After your first year, we also offer a 401K retirement plan with a 4% match. The hours for this position are 8:30-5:30 and is a closing position. This means that occasionally you may need to stay a few minutes late. We charge parents a late fee that is split between the two closing teachers, and you're also paid overtime should you need to stay late. Currently this rarely happens. We close for three weeks every year, one week in summer, and two weeks at the end of December. We also close for 7 other holidays throughout the year. These are all paid. In addition, we offer 5 paid sick days and 4 paid vacation days per year. Yes, you read that correctly, that's 31 paid work days off per year. Our owners understand that early childhood education is hard work. We will start with a quick phone interview and then move to in-person interviews. At this time, we are not prepared to sponsor any H1B or other work visas.
