Job Description We are excited to welcome a TK Teacher to our program supporting children ages 4-5. In this role, you will join a well-established TK classroom led by an experienced teacher and supported by a strong school community. This is a great opportunity for an educator who enjoys collaborating with colleagues, engaging children in hands-on learning experiences, and building meaningful relationships with children and families in a program that values flexibility, creativity, and child development. The ideal schedule is 8:30 AM-5:00 PM , with some flexibility available. In this role, you will work closely alongside a former LAUSD teacher, supporting classroom routines, learning experiences, and daily operations throughout the day. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in facilitating classroom activities, learning experiences, and daily routines Maintain an inviting, clean, and organized classroom and outdoor environment Support the safety, supervision, and well-being of children throughout the day Assist children with toileting and self-help routines as needed Provide supervision and support during both indoor and outdoor play Keep classroom materials clean, organized, and accessible Supervise lunch and assist with snack preparation and service Observe and track children's progress and communicate updates with families and caregivers Collaborate with teaching staff to support a consistent and positive classroom environment Write a weekly classroom newsletter Participate in daily classroom setup, cleanup, and organization Requirements Passionate about working with young children Understanding of process art and child-centered learning Reliable and punctual Committed to Segray's philosophy and mission Strong interpersonal and communication skills Solution-oriented and collaborative Ability to speak and write Spanish fluently is a plus Education & Experience Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units At least 1 year of experience working in a classroom Outdoor classroom training or experience is a plus Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, and active movement throughout the day Ability to occasionally lift and support children of varying sizes Comfortable working outdoors and engaging in hands-on activities involving sand, dirt, water, and other natural materials Perks at Segray DoorDash DashPass membership Catered birthday lunch Ongoing staff development opportunities Staff celebrations and team events Field trips and enrichment opportunities Low teacher-to-child ratios Monthly classroom budget About Segray Segray is a preschool program serving children ages one to six years across two locations: Segray Eagle Rock and Segray at the Oaks.
