Floater Preschool Teacher - Redwood Village Children's Center Redwood Village Children's Center "RVCC" is a mixed age preschool where we believe in play-based learning while developing trusting relationship with others and our environment. Description We seek a warm, friendly, flexible Preschool Teacher to join our teaching team in Marina Del Rey, CA. We seek people with a solid work ethic who are respectful, possess cultural awareness and sensitivity and have the ability to provide a safe and secure environment for children. This position works with administration and a team of preschool teachers to care for 50+ students and is expected to: Oversee the planning and implementation of a developmentally appropriate preschool program with activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of young children Enhance our preschool team and shares in our ideas of play based learning and social emotional development. Promote literacy and early education that encourages children to think, reason, question, and experiment Model appropriate behavior, language, and attitude for young children Communicate and use effective conflict resolution skills to teach children how to solve problems Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff. Value everyone's background and embrace diversity Communicate professionally with parents to keep them informed of program expectations and activities and discuss children's development Discuss identified problems and needs of children with parents, administration and/or professionals when needed Ensure children are supervised safely; school and equipment are clean, well maintained, and safe at all times Be flexible and have fun growing with our team of supportive teachers! Qualifications High School Diploma required/ Bachelor's degree preferred Twelve (12) Early childhood education (ECE) units combined with related experience working in a preschool program and/or further education Follow Covid-19 guidelines that have been put into place by LACDPH and management Knowledge of child development, early education theories, and developmental play-based practices Excellent team building, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills Effective verbal, classroom management and communications skills Professional demeanor and ability to supervise and interact with staff, children, parents and visitors Warm, outgoing personality and love of children Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters, accidents and emergencies Must successful pass mandated community care licensing trainings Candidate must have fingerprint clearance and be updated on all required immunizations. Candidate must be flexible to work between the hours of 7am-6pm, Monday-Friday This position is part-time, Monday through Friday. Salary $18-$20 an hour based on previous experience. Compensation may include paid staff development and paid holidays, and sick.
