Preschool Substitute Teacher Trinity Lutheran Preschool - Paso Robles, CA Overview Trinity Lutheran Preschool is looking for caring, confident, and qualified substitute teachers to join our teaching team in a Christ-centered environment. Our preschool serves children ages 2-5 years old , and we are looking for team members who have a genuine love for young children and can provide a calm, nurturing, and engaging classroom experience when regular teachers are absent. Substitute teachers will work collaboratively with our preschool staff and co-teachers, support classroom routines and activities, and participate in the daily life of our preschool program. This is an on-call substitute position , with opportunities to work as needed based on staff absences and school needs. Duties Provide a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment for preschool children. Follow lesson plans and classroom routines prepared by the regular teaching team. Engage children in age-appropriate learning, play, stories, songs, and activities. Support children's social, emotional, and spiritual development. Maintain appropriate classroom management and supervision. Communicate respectfully and professionally with students, parents, and staff. Collaborate with co-teachers and other preschool staff. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom. Qualifications & Requirements Must meet all California Community Care Licensing requirements to work in a licensed preschool setting. 12 ECE units required for the applicable substitute position. Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patient, calm, dependable, and caring. Be comfortable working in a Christian school environment. Able to confidently manage and engage a preschool classroom. Genuine love for young children and a desire to help them learn and grow. Proof of required immunizations/health documentation for child care workers. Required Community Care Licensing background check and clearance .
