Job Description

Early Childhood Lead Teacher for 2 year old group & Pre-k 3 year old group Tinker Village Play-Based Learning Center - Palmdale, CA Full-Time Position Available Welcome to Tinker Village Play-Based Learning Center! At Tinker Village, education is more than teaching facts; it's about nurturing curiosity, sparking creativity, and building a lifelong love for learning. We are looking for innovative teachers with a passion for early childhood education. Ideal candidates have knowledge of or interest in learning about and implementing Reggio Emilia, Montessori, RIE Resources for Infants Educarer and play-based curriculum approaches. We are a "think outside the box" program that values creativity, flexibility, and bringing new ideas into the classroom. Teachers design their own lesson plans and curriculum based on children's interests while aligning with the DRDPs and Preschool Learning Foundations . We complete assessments and have parent-teacher conferences twice a year. We value growth mindsets in both staff and children, encouraging independence, problem-solving, and perseverance. We are looking for educators who reflect those same values by striving to do their best for children and staying current on best practices in early childhood education. This role requires the ability to actively supervise young children indoors and outdoors and engage in a physically active classroom environment. We are a nature-based program and spend time outdoors. Our program aims to maintain low child-to-teacher ratios, though teachers must be able to independently manage a class of up to 12 children . We are a small team, and teamwork is vital to our success. We are looking for matured team-oriented educators who communicate professionally , and contribute positively to a collaborative environment. Mentorship and ongoing coaching are provided for both new and experienced educators, with support through regular team collaboration meetings and individual check-ins with the director and executive director. Success in this role looks like a teacher who listens to children's interests, builds meaningful learning experiences from those interests, maintains strong relationships with families, and contributes positively to a reflective teaching team. Your Role As a Lead Teacher , you will: Create and implement engaging lesson plans that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth. Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued. Observe and assess children's progress , adapting activities to meet individual needs. Collaborate with parents to ensure continuity between home and school. Incorporate play-based learning , physical activities, and early literacy & math concepts into daily routines. Communicate effectively with children, families, and fellow educators. Assists children with potty training and diaper changing(applicable to the 2-year-old teacher)
Qualifications Required:
At least 24 ECE units or enroll in ECE courses. Experience in a preschool, daycare, preferred. Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning . Mandated Reporter training per California Title 22 requirements. Schedule & Compensation CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to pass a background check, TB clearance, immunizations , and complete a mandated Reporter training per California Title 22 requirements. Competitive pay based on education and experience .
