Will monitor the children to ensure that they interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner while guiding them to their developmental milestones.
Duties include:
- Ensuring the children have good hygiene, and that all hygiene products are available and/or refilled.
- Perform first aid for bumps, cuts, and scrapes.
- Toileting and changing diapers, as necessary.
- Cleaning & maintaining interactive areas throughout the day.
- Overseeing the preparation of meals and snacks for the kids.
- Organizing activities and/or developing age appropriate curriculum for children.
- Keeping records of each child's progress, interests and any issues that may arise. Daily charting of journals.
- Maintaining contact with the children's parents and contacting them in case of an emergency.
- Guiding and supporting the teacher aides with their required duties. -
- Certified in Child/Infant CPR and first aid, pass a background check, pass a physical questionnaire, and be cleared by a physician for TB.
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have completed 6 semester units of early childhood education and enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified. (Fully qualified teacher requires 12 core semester units in early childhood development and 6 months experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable program).
- Infant teachers will require an additional 3 semester units related to infant care.
- Must have some experience of working with children under 5 years of age.
