Will monitor the children to ensure that they interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner while guiding them to their developmental milestones.

Duties include:

• Ensuring the children have good hygiene, and that all hygiene products are available and/or refilled.
• Perform first aid for bumps, cuts, and scrapes.
• Toileting and changing diapers, as necessary.
• Cleaning & maintaining interactive areas throughout the day.
• Overseeing the preparation of meals and snacks for the kids.
• Organizing activities and/or developing age appropriate curriculum for children.
• Keeping records of each child's progress, interests and any issues that may arise. Daily charting of journals.
• Maintaining contact with the children's parents and contacting them in case of an emergency.
• Guiding and supporting the teacher aides with their required duties. -
• Certified in Child/Infant CPR and first aid, pass a background check, pass a physical questionnaire, and be cleared by a physician for TB.
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have completed 6 semester units of early childhood education and enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified. (Fully qualified teacher requires 12 core semester units in early childhood development and 6 months experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable program).
• Infant teachers will require an additional 3 semester units related to infant care.
• Must have some experience of working with children under 5 years of age.

- Strong verbal communication and listening skills to converse with children, fellow professional caregivers, and parents/guardians. Patience, compassion, and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children. Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to be attentive to multiple children at a time. Spontaneity and creative thinking in order guide the children within their developmental domains throughout the day. - Oversees classroom teacher and teacher aids. Reports to the Director and/or Administrator, as necessary.

Pay:

$16.90 - $19.47 per hour
