We do this by helping kids accomplish and master four key areas: Learn God's truth. Explore the world around them. Create with their imagination. Play in a way that fosters growth and relationships. Little Light Preschool exists to grow children, partner with families, and help people take the next step to follow Jesus. Our goal is to partner with families to help children learn God's truth, grow in wonder, explore creation with wonder, create with imagination, and play in ways that foster growth and relationships. We are looking for a caring, dependable, and flexible Lead Teacher to join our preschool team! This unique flex position is ideal for an early childhood educator who enjoys working with different age groups and thrives in a dynamic classroom environment. Because this is a flexible support role, the Lead Teacher will work in various classrooms and with different age groups depending on enrollment, staffing needs, and the day of the week. One day you may be supporting our younger learners, while another day you may lead a classroom with older preschoolers.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Recognize parents as the primary spiritual and educational influence in their child's life and partner with families in that responsibility. Demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, emotional stability, and punctuality. Maintain professional appearance, speech, and conduct consistent with school policies and Christian values. Demonstrate reliability, dependability, conscientious work habits, and the ability to multitask effectively. Respect and support established leadership, policies, and procedures while maintaining a teachable spirit. Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion regarding sensitive information. Meet all applicable medical, background clearance, and vaccination requirements established by the school and state licensing agencies. Complete a minimum of 12 semester units (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, including at least one course in each of the following areas: child growth and development; child, family, and community or child/family relations; and programs or curriculum. Complete a minimum of 50 days of work experience in a licensed childcare program. For infant care positions, complete at least 3 semester units specifically in infant care or infant development.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must be called by God into ministry Complete at least 12 semester units of coursework in early childhood education or child development. At least one course must be in each of the following: Child, family, community or child/family relations Programs/curriculum Child/human growth and development AND Complete at least 50 days of work experience in a childcare program Specifically for infant care: 3 units must be specialized in infant care Licensure by a state and/or regional accrediting agency preferred. Minimum of 3 years teaching experience preferred Knowledge of computer technology required. Demonstrate the ability to accept and carry out responsibilities and make competent, professional decisions. Sit and stand for extended periods of time Lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Frequently move about inside campus buildings and outside on the grounds Must agree to uphold and support the missions, vision, and strategy of the Church Must have a philosophy of ministry that is consistent with the Lead Pastor, Elders, Scripture, Mission and Vision Must be an example of Servant-Leadership to those inside and outside the Church

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONABILITIES

Serve as the primary leader of the classroom, responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating all daily instruction, activities, and learning experiences. Provide direction and supervision to assigned Teacher's Aide(s), delegating tasks clearly and ensuring alignment with classroom goals and lesson plans. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and the developmental characteristics of the age group taught. Prepare and execute weekly lesson plans including instructional objectives, activities, Biblical integration, assessments, and learning resources. Utilize effective instructional strategies including presentation of information, questioning techniques, guided practice, and responsive teaching to support student learning. Incorporate appropriate classroom technology to enhance instruction and engagement. Maintain ultimate responsibility for classroom organization, management, routines, and learning environment. Supervise students at all times, ensuring safety, appropriate behavior, and adherence to classroom and school expectations. Observe, assess, and document student progress using appropriate evaluation methods and adjust instruction as needed. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress, needs, and classroom updates using approved communication tools. Maintain strong teacher-parent partnerships through timely, proactive communication in support of student behavioral and academic success. Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout all instruction and classroom activities. Model Christ-centered character in all interactions with students, families, staff, and administration. Encourage students in spiritual development, character formation, and understanding their identity as children of God. Maintain appropriate communication with administration regarding student concerns, classroom needs, and significant issues. Follow established school policies and procedures, including licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and emergency protocols. Follow the Matthew 18 principle in addressing conflict with students, parents, staff, and administration. Represent Little Light Preschool and Purpose Church in a professional and Christ-centered manner at all times, including in-person and digital communication. Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, devotionals, and school events as required. Supervise extracurricular activities, classroom events, and field trips as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
