MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Child Development Teacher Permit required as specified under Title 5 State regulations.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree + 12 ECE/CD and 3 administrative units. Experience in teaching preschool.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The teacher of the State Preschool Program is responsible for instruction of the State Preschool Program. The District's State Preschool Program is categorically funded. Its continued existence and the continued employment of the State Preschool Teacher is dependent upon continued funding by the State.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The State Preschool Teacher develops appropriate educational goals and objectives for the program; provides learning experiences in appropriate activities and curriculum areas commensurate with course of study specified in State Education Code, State Preschool guidelines, and Administrative Regulations and/or Policies of the District; utilizes principles of learning in his/her instruction of students; establishes and maintains rapport and standard of student behavior necessary to achieve effective participation in all activities without interfering with the atmosphere of a preschool classroom; evaluates student's academic and social-emotional growth, keeps appropriate records, prepares progress reports and communicates with parents or guardians on the student's progress.

Child Development Master Teacher Permit, Preferably, Site Supervisor Permit Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree considered if the following requirements are met: Minimum of 24 ECE or CD units- must be core units. Must have 16 units of General Education units, 6 Specialization units plus 2 Adult Supervision Units. 12 of 24 units must be of school age emphasis. (Please submit transcripts for evaluation/consideration).
