Child Care Worker - Job Description Position Description The Part-Time Child Care Worker provides safe, loving, and dependable child care for families attending events at Christ Church. This role supports the mission, vision, and values of Christ Church by offering a welcoming and nurturing environment for children while parents participate in church gatherings and programs. Child care will be provided during evening events and some weekend morning activities. Compensation Maximum of 12 Hours per
Week Pay Rate:
$20/hr Qualifications Character Meets the spiritual and character qualifications of an elder/deacon (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9), including home and personal life. Passionate about the way and mission of Jesus. Gives evidence to being a person of prayer and of the Word. Lives out of an on-going experience of the grace and mercy of God found in Christ. Endorses and supports the church's theological commitments and philosophy of ministry. Chemistry Intellectual & theological curiosity & integrity. Strong work ethic and drive towards excellence. Hospitable to those inside and outside the church. No sacred/ secular divide, seeks to engage all of life—home, work, school, culture, etc—out of a distinctly Christian worldview and imagination. Competence Passionate about sharing Christ in word and deed Strong people skills, with the demonstrated ability to function as a leader-of-leaders in accordance with Ephesians 4 High-capacity worker and able to manage time well Self motivated, collaborative and creative Theologically astute, thoughtful, gospel-centered On-going commitment to lifelong learning as it relates to the position Responsibilities Provide attentive, age-appropriate care for children during church events Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment for all children Follow Christ Church child safety policies and procedures at all times Supervise playtime, crafts, snacks, and structured activities as appropriate Preparation & execution of provided curriculum for certain ministries Communicate clearly, professionally and timely with parents, guardians and church staff Lead with care, working collaboratively & respectfully with fellow childcare providers Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled child care hours Assist with set-up and clean-up of child care spaces Schedule & Compensation Part-time position, approximately 10-12 hours per week Evening availability required; some morning hours may be needed Compensation commensurate with experience
Additional Skills Required:
Must be proficient in Mac and Microsoft based system. Must be able to maintain great attention to detail Must be flexible and able to adapt to change and initiate positive action as necessary Must possess excellent communication skills and be willing to develop clear, timely and consistent communication with staff members, volunteer teams, and the larger church community Must be receptive to coaching by church leadership and committed to continuous learning and leadership development.
