The Toddler-Teacher is responsible for the supervision of 12 toddlers and the planning and implementation of an appropriate Christian Educational Curriculum and to ensure that the preschool program operates efficiently in compliance with Title 22 Regulations.
Responsibilities:
Plan, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with Title 22 state policies and Christian Philosophy of Grace Christian Preschool Use experience and on-going trainings to enrich the approved curriculum to ensure a continuous stimulating and challenging learning experience for each child. Will assist with on-going visual supervision inside/outside classroom, during transitions, and restroom breaks Maintain a classroom environment that is controlled and safe that allows the children freedom of choice and exploration with clearly defined structure. Responsible writing weekly lesson plans using materials from numerous resources as well as the approved curriculum. Lesson plans along with the list of items needed are due every Thursday. Will treat children with dignity and respect. Will follow the school discipline guidelines and will clearly communicate all discipline concerns to supervisor Will abide by code of confidentiality in all manners involving the children, staff, and families enrolled at Grace Christian Preschool. Responsible for maintain an ordered arrangement, appearance, décor, and learning environment of the facility. Keep all toys and equipment in the facility clean and sanitized using only pre- approved cleaning products. Is responsible for equal share of joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
This may include:
Vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning sinks, dusting furniture, cleaning windows, sweeping and mopping floors etc. Must attend all scheduled staff meetings, trainings, and special events. Will implement methods of utilizing a classroom assistant (s) including using clear communication and careful supervision. Will give input to supervisor on the classroom assistant evaluation form. Will plan and implement methods of establishing a positive liaison with parents, staff, guests, and volunteers. Will maintain a portfolio on every student to consist of: Work samples, observation notes, written goals, photos, and developmental progress tracking. Will evaluate students daily and prepare evaluations and meet with parents twice a year to discuss their child's growth and development. Utilize the bright-wheel app to document daily activities, meal times, lesson planning, communicate with families and more. Perform any additional duties assigned by Director Additional Qualifications Must have completed a minimum of 12 ECE units including core courses with a "C" or better from an accredited college or university Experience teaching in a Preschool or Infant/Toddler classroom setting, which includes 175 days of 3+hours per day within a 4year period Be in compliance with the State of California health requirements and qualifications as defined in Title 22 State Regulations. Possess the ability to interact effectively with parents, peers, and administrative staff. Possess the skills necessary to manage a Preschool classroom Must maintain current CPR/FA Certification Pass a TB Test every 4 years Background and Finger print Clearance from the Dept of Justice and FBI AA Degree in Child Development (Preferred) Site Supervisor Permit (Preferred)
