Center Director Position Summary Little Adventures Child Care Center is seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Lead Teachers to join our team. Lead Teachers may work with a variety of age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and Pre-K children, based on classroom needs, qualifications, and experience. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. This position works closely with assistant teachers, float staff, families, and center leadership to provide high-quality care and early learning experiences for every child. Essential Responsibilities Provide a safe, positive, nurturing, and welcoming classroom environment. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans based on the ages and individual needs of children. Maintain active supervision of children at all times. Follow all Colorado child care licensing requirements and center policies and procedures. Maintain required teacher-to-child ratios and accurate classroom attendance/headcounts. Establish consistent classroom routines and expectations. Support children's social-emotional development through positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management strategies. Complete daily communication, incident reports, documentation, assessments, and other required classroom records. Communicate professionally and positively with families regarding their child's day, development, needs, and classroom experiences. Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and other staff to ensure consistent classroom operations. Assist children with meals, toileting, diapering, handwashing, rest time, transitions, and other daily routines as appropriate for the assigned age group. Follow all safe sleep, diapering, sanitation, food safety, allergy, medication, and health procedures applicable to the classroom. Maintain a clean, organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom. Prepare classroom materials and learning areas and rotate activities based on children's interests and developmental needs. Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and required continuing education. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and employees. Build positive relationships with children, families, coworkers, and community partners. Be flexible and willing to assist in other classrooms or age groups when needed. Immediately report health, safety, supervision, licensing, or child protection concerns to center leadership. Perform other duties necessary to support the safe and successful operation of the center. Qualifications Candidates must meet or be able to meet applicable Colorado child care licensing requirements for their assigned position and classroom . Preferred qualifications include previous experience working in a licensed early childhood program; Early Childhood Education coursework, credentials, or certifications; experience working with multiple age groups; and familiarity with developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment practices. Candidates must also be willing to complete all required background checks, training, health and safety requirements, and ongoing professional development. Lead Teachers should be comfortable taking responsibility for a classroom while also working as part of a larger team. Physical Requirements The position requires the ability to actively supervise and engage with young children throughout the day. Employees must be able to sit and play on the floor, bend, kneel, stand, walk, move throughout indoor and outdoor environments, assist children with daily routines, and lift or carry children and classroom materials as appropriate for the assigned classroom.
