Early Childhood Teacher Active Louisville Kids is looking for an amazing teacher to join our team! We are seeking a caring, energetic, and qualified Early Childhood Teacher, Toddler/ Preschool Teacher, or Assistant Teacher who has a genuine love for working with young children. What You'll Do Work collaboratively with your co-teachers to create a positive and engaging classroom environment Use positive guidance to help children develop emotional regulation, independence, confidence, and social skills Plan and participate in age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences Support children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development Help preschool-aged children build the skills they need for a successful transition to kindergarten Build trusting relationships with children and communicate positively with families Maintain a safe, organized, welcoming, and nurturing classroom Bring patience, flexibility, creativity, and a sense of fun to each day Who We're Looking For Our ideal teacher has a great love and patience for children and understands that early childhood education is about much more than preparing children academically. We want someone who recognizes the importance of supporting the whole child and creating strong, secure relationships. Experience or education in Early Childhood Education is preferred, and we welcome applicants who are ECT qualified or interested in growing their qualifications in the field. Responsibilities Develop a careful and creative age appropriate activities. Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.) Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Track children's progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills Proven experience as an Toddler or Preschool Teacher Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Excellent communication and instructional skills Ability to act as mediator between children Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen Certification in child CPR BSc/BA in education or relevant field (not required but helpful)
