Overview Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Youth Development Professional to inspire and empower young minds through engaging activities and supportive mentorship. In this role, you will create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children and adolescents can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your dedication will foster positive growth, encourage teamwork, and promote lifelong learning. Duties Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and creativity Manage classroom or activity spaces with effective behavior management techniques to ensure safety and engagement Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and implementing individualized strategies Lead S.T.E.M. sessions, coach activities, or arts projects to foster confidence and teamwork Assist with childcare duties during Club sessions or Summer Session hours, ensuring a nurturing environment for all children Offer tutoring or academic support to help students excel in their studies and build self-esteem Experience Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational, childcare, camp, or recreational settings preferred but not required. Knowledge of childhood development principles and effective classroom management techniques or willingness to learn. Certifications in first aid, food handling, and CPR are highly desirable. Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management strategies. Experience in teaching, tutoring, sports coaching, theater arts, or babysitting is beneficial. Ability to work collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and community partners to support youth growth. Strong communication skills with a positive attitude focused on fostering a supportive and kind environment.
