Responsibilities:
Implement a research-based, play-based curriculum that fosters preliteracy skills, social emotional development, and a love of learning. Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe and valued. Utilize dialogic reading techniques to engage children in meaningful conversations about books and stories. Incorporate phonological awareness games, letter and sound recognition activities, and writing exploration into daily routines. Facilitate dramatic play experiences that encourage creativity, social interaction, and language development. Supervise and guide children during play center activities, outdoor play, and mealtimes. Collaborate with therapists to support children with diverse learning needs. Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and family workshops. Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Connecticut teaching certification or CDA. Experience working with preschool-aged children. Deep understanding of child development and early childhood education principles. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Passion for play-based learning and fostering a love of literacy. Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and therapists.
