Essential Responsibilities Child Supervision & Safety Provide consistent, attentive, and active supervision of all children and never leave a child unattended. Ensure a safe, clean, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom and play environment. Follow Belltown Discovery Center LLC policies, procedures, philosophy, and expectations and applicable childcare licensing requirements. Complete attendance, health checks, incident reports, ProCare documentation and required documentation timely and accurately. Monitor children's health, comfort, developmental needs, and individual routines. Maintain required ratios (Under 2 1:10 and no more than 8, 2 yrs old 1:5 and no more than 10, Preschool/Pre-K 1:10 and no more than 20, School-age 1:15 and no more than 30). Curriculum & Learning Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum and activities. Provide experiences supporting language and literacy, math, science, social studies, creative arts, physical development, and social-emotional learning. Use children's interests, questions, and developmental needs to guide curriculum planning. Provide hands-on opportunities for exploration, problem-solving, creativity, and independence. Observe and document children's progress and learning as required by the center. Classroom Environment & Guidance Establish clear, consistent classroom expectations and routines. Use positive guidance, encouragement, and redirection techniques. Support children in developing self-regulation, conflict-resolution, and friendship skills. Create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected. Maintain an organized, inviting, and developmentally appropriate classroom. Family Communication & Partnership Communicate respectfully and professionally with parents and guardians. Share information and/or photos regarding children's experiences, accomplishments, developments, incidents, concerns and notable events. Maintain confidentiality regarding other children, families and staff members. Work collaboratively with families to support individual children's needs. Teamwork & Professional Development Work cooperatively with co-teachers and administrators. Be sure that co-teachers and administrators are informed of any information or changes regarding a child or their family in their care. Attend required staff training, and complete online professional development by date due. Equally share classroom duties such as cleaning, organization, switching out toys, changing bulletin boards and preparation for lesson plans. Complete other duties assigned by administration Qualifications Meet all applicable state licensing requirements for a preschool childcare teacher. High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education coursework preferred. Must pass required background checks and meet applicable health/licensing requirements and kept in a current status. Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain as required. Complete a mandated reporter and sexual harassment training before starting and The Care4Kids health & safety training within 90 days of employment. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Strong communication and classroom-management skills. Patient, creative, dependable, and able to maintain a positive attitude. Physical Requirements Safely lift, carry, hold, feed, change and comfort young children as required. Be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and move throughout the classroom and playgrounds. Participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Be able to safely supervise and participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Respond quickly and calmy to safety during emergency situations. Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
