Early Childhood Educator Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish Corporation North Haven, CT Job Details 1 hour ago Qualifications School experience Classroom experience Classroom Teaching Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description The Early Childhood Educator will provide a caring and supportive approach to our students addressing the unique needs of both students and families in accordance of our mission. The individual will meet the regulatory standards required by the State of Connecticut Office of Early Childhood and the Archdiocese of Hartford. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in accordance with the school mission. a. Daily lesson plans that incorporate the spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child. b. Use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing, question, demonstrating, and reinforcing c. Encourage and assist children to practice self-help daily. d. Provide experiences that actively promote diversity and acceptance in interactions and attitudes e. Assess and maintain a portfolio on each student's development with a formal assessment and conferences in both the fall and spring. f. Individualize the curriculum utilizing observation and materials to meet those needs i. Initiate referrals or additional services for children and parents g. Ensure guidance of children's behavior that encourages positive self-concept by providing positive guidelines such as redirecting, positive language, and positive reinforcement while following the behavior policies of the program. h. Ensure the health and safety of the children and the environment i. Implement all

policies and procedures i. Provide positive communication with parents by monthly newsletters, daily communication at arrival and dismissal, and phone or email when necessary j. Contribute to the ongoing development of our program i. Follow licensing requirements ii. Carry out the responsibilities assigned to you iii. Attend regular staff meetings iv. Maintain confidentiality of the program, children, parents, and staff v. Participate in annual reviews vi. Plan and carry out personal development
Qualifications:
A degree in Early Childhood (Bachelor, CDA) A minimum of Five year experience in the classroom CPR/First Aid Certification An understanding of the developmental stages of Early Childhood
