Experienced Preschool Teacher 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Overview Northwood Childcare provides individualized care for infants, toddlers, preschool and school age children in a safe and positive environment guided by our educators. Our play-based philosophy allows children to develop autonomy along with the necessary social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills that foster a solid foundation for lifelong success. We work cohesively with parents to provide meaningful early learning experiences. We are seeking passionate and dedicated full-time Preschool teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in early childhood education, classroom management, and curriculum development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to positively impact children's learning experience. Candidate should be committed to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes childhood development, literacy, and social-emotional growth. Prior experience working with children is highly valued. Shift will be 8:00am-4:00pm Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and educational best practices Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and social development Manage classroom behavior effectively using established behavior management techniques Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt instruction accordingly Incorporate diverse teaching strategies including literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and Montessori methods as appropriate Support early childhood development through age-appropriate activities for toddlers and preschoolers Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and colleagues to ensure child welfare and address individual needs Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and progress reports Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with childcare regulations Qualifications Experience working with children across various settings such as nannying, childcare, preschool, private schools, or early intervention programs Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful learning environment Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning Familiarity with special education needs, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies is a plus Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members Childcare certification or relevant teaching credentials preferred Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic educational setting Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Requirements:
Ensure health and safety of children during program hours. Complete curriculum planning and weekly lesson plans. Develop and maintain a professional relationship with all members of the staff. Develop positive relationships with the families that we serve. Communicate daily with Supervisors, other staff and parents in a positive, professional manner at all times. All other duties as needed and assigned. Must be able to lift children from 10-40 lbs Complete training for self-according to the state regulations of 1% per year of time worked. Complete all mandated training within the center Complete written child evaluations Assist in daily cleaning A positive attitude Problem solving skills Reliable and consistent Complete all required paperwork before training period ends.
