In this role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children, guiding and mentoring assistant teachers, and ensuring that each child's developmental needs are met with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your leadership will inspire a love of learning while fostering social, emotional, and cognitive growth in our preschoolers and toddlers. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Lead classroom activities that promote active learning, curiosity, and social interaction among children. Oversee daily classroom management to ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment conducive to learning. Mentor and support assistant teachers by providing guidance on lesson planning, behavior management, and classroom procedures. Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and foster strong relationships built on trust and transparency. Conduct assessments of children's development using standardized testing tools and tailor instructional strategies accordingly. Integrate special education techniques and early intervention strategies to support children with diverse needs. Maintain detailed documentation of lesson plans, child observations, behavior notes, and developmental milestones. Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health & safety standards, and childcare policies at all times. Skills Extensive knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education. Proven experience in classroom management within daycare or preschool settings. Strong curriculum development skills across various domains including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Ability to work effectively with children of different ages, including toddlers and preschoolers. Expertise in behavior management techniques to promote positive social interactions. Familiarity with special education approaches and early intervention strategies to support diverse learners. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Demonstrated ability to plan lessons that align with educational standards while fostering creativity and independence. Experience with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment tools. Knowledge of childcare regulations, licensing requirements, and child welfare practices.
