Church Nursery Job Description:

To care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and younger elementary children under supervision of the Ministry Coordinator and in coordination with the other Professional Childcare Provider. Hours are primarily on Sunday mornings, but also when asked on Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday, and occasionally for special events.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Create a safe and welcoming environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. 2. Arrive promptly and assure nursery is clean, orderly, and safe for children 3. Turn on worship service broadcast on the laptop provided. 4. Greet parents and children warmly and actively to help with transition 5. Guide adult or youth volunteers who may assist in the room. 6. Engage the children by chatting, playing, and reading 7. Deal with discipline issues by re-directing children and by informing the Ministry Coordinator and parents when necessary. 8. Check diapers and change them when needed 9. Clean toys, tables, chairs and other accessories each week 10. Maintain open communication with the Ministry Coordinator and other Childcare Provider. 11. To help with transition between sanctuary building and Peace Center when needed.

Hours:

9:15-12:15 each Sunday Extra hours Christmas Eve (usually 4:45-6:15 pm) and Maundy Thursday/Good Friday (usually 6:45-8:00) To be paid $120/every two weeks ($20 per hour) Background check and safety training certificate required , Peace uses Safe Gatherings.
