OBJECTIVE

- To provide an age-appropriate, dependable, supervised, safe, interactive, loving, and nurturing environment in which babies can begin their journey into a life with Christ. To provide comfort for parents so they can participate in church services and special events knowing that their children are safe and secure.

WORK EXPECTATIONS

- The position is part-time, up to 16 hours per month . Sundays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and Wednesday from 6:15 pm to 7:45. Extra scheduling will be communicated ahead of time. Communicate effectively with parents, children, and church personnel. Provide timely notification of any absences. Adhere to all Brooksville Methodist Church policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Be dependable, prefer at least 18 years of age, and have experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 months up to kindergarten with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities. Satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and be able to work around children and youth. Obtain and maintain current certification in First Aid and infant/child

CPR. SUPERVISOR

- The Nursery Coordinator reports to the Children's Ministry Director and to the Pastor. SPR oversees this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Maintain security and suggest recommendations to improve the safety and communication procedures in the nursery. Check in/out all children, collecting any needed information to ensure a responsible adult is named and can be contacted, when necessary. Transport children safely to and from sanctuary, as needed. 2. Care for infants and toddlers up to kindergarten according to appropriate health and safety guidelines during Sunday services, Sunday School classes, established meetings, church functions, and special events. 3. Keeps and maintains a safe, clutter free, organized and sanitary nursery environment in coordination with Facility Manager. 4. Provide age-appropriate care such as changing diapers and helping potty-trained individuals in restroom. 5. Maintains records of any allergies or other special dietary requirements/needs of children. 6. Open and set up the church nursery at designated times at least 15-20 minutes before the scheduled event start time. 7. Identifies, equips, and enlists volunteers to help with the work of the ministry. 8. Engage the children in creative play, songs, stories, and otherwise provide a happy and safe environment during nursery experience. 9. Monitor condition of nursery equipment and supplies and alert the Children's Director of any needs/concerns of Nursery environment. 10. Ensure injuries are documented, if necessary, and reported to parents.
